In addition to the previously-documented havoc below, I've got two more stories to add...
Yesterday as I was preparing dinner and simultaneously unloading the dishwasher, or in other words, not paying much attention to what my children were doing, I finally looked up to find Jackson dumping water out of Avie's water bottle all over the table and then thrashing his hands through it, splashing water everywhere within a five-foot radius of the table. All with a HUGE grin on his face. I'm just glad it was only water.
This boy!! He cannot be left unwatched for a minute...
But sure enough, he was left on his own yet again this morning, as I was doing Avie's hair for church. I started to hear this pouring sound and walked out of the bathroom to find the stinker sitting up on the table (which is not unusual for us) at the counter pouring out the bottle of popcorn kernels that had been left out the night before. He did just a little bit and stopped and laughed. As I got to him quickly (and it's like five steps from our bathroom to where he was at in the kitchen) and said, "No Jack! No!" He turned it over and dumped out almost the entire rest of the bottle! Luckily, I was able to recover most of them.
People don't lie. Having a boy is so different than having a girl. He is always into everything in a way unlike Avie ever was, and that's saying a lot because I thought Avie was a busy, busy little girl. But I'll be honest, after the initial frustrations and discipline measures that take place, it's hard to not look at his sweet little face and smile. He keeps life exciting!
