Jack was potty-trained.
My biggest mistake was putting him in a diaper the day I went to go get Bonnie from the airport before Spencer's graduation.
I hadn't gone to Idaho Falls since he had been potty trained, and I was going by myself, so I did it for the convenience and to not have to be stressed while driving and having to stop somewhere. It was actually a good thing too because I ended up taking a wrong turn and going way out a different direction than where I should've gone. We were in the car for much longer than planned.
Anyway, after that day, I thought maybe it would be best to put him in one for graduation too, just so I wouldn't have to worry about wet pants... and I'd still ask him and take him, but I didn't... ask him and take him that is.
That weekend was crazy busy and the week before Christmas was crazy busy (still in-and-out of diapers because we were here and there and everywhere, and hadn't been home enough to get him used to it again).
Bottom line. I got lazy. Spencer got lazy. Diapers are more convenient.
For the past two weeks, I've been trying to start him every day in his underwear, but by the afternoon/evening, we went to diapers because he FOUGHT every single time, he had ACCIDENTS every single time, and it was EXHAUSTING.
Now he knows I'll cave and he's got control of the situation... unlike before when he was younger and more naive... and so willing to work with me.
So I bought a big box of diapers yesterday so we can all go back to enjoying life and not being stressed.
Ah man!!! I'm so sorry! But if it makes you feel better, I would probably have done the SAME thing! I hope in a few months he'll be more willing to try it again!!
ReplyDeleteOh no! That's ok though, I'm sure Jack will be a quick learning, again, when the time comes. I completely agree with you though, diapers are SOO much more convenient when they are still learning.
