I posted a couple weeks ago that I had a goal of completing 1-2 projects every month this year.
I'm happy to say that January has been pretty productive so far.
I was able to get some shelves with a Christmas gift card to help organize the toys in the kids' closet. Now the toys are out and visible and PLAYED with a lot more often since they are easy to see, and cleaning up is easy to do because we have baskets to help sort things.
I was going to make some peek-a-boo toy bags (with a vinyl window on front) using this tutorial, but opted out since the baskets were cheaper (Thank you, Dollar Tree) and are easier for the kids. I might end up making a couple down the road still for Avie's little princesses and Barbies that her little brother can't get into as easy. But for now, I'm happy with what we have in there.

Also, I've been working on sorting/organizing my recipes. My main recipe book was a MESS. No wonder I haven't enjoyed cooking anything. I can't even find half of anything I'm looking for. I've been taking a little bit of time here and there to type up my recipes. I decided full pages with the protective sheets in a three-ring binder, which I already have all of it from a cooking class I took on campus years ago, will be best for me so I'm hoping to get that all finished here in the next couple weeks and have my recipes/meal plans easy to find once and for all.
Lastly, today I made this:
| finally! a grocery sack holder! |
This has been on my list for probably two years.
I had everything already so it was quick and easy.
Took less than an hour during the first half of Jack's nap.
(probably would have even been much less time but I had a couple hang ups - remember I haven't sewn in like a year?) I started with this tutorial but in the end just went on my own.
Feels good to be getting things crossed off the list!
